Cynthia came to know the Lord as her personal Savior in 1980, just after the birth of her eldest daughter. Her thirst for Truth began immediately and she has been a student of the Bible ever since then.
She has been leading women’s Bible studies for 18 years and has had both the privilege of being discipled by wonderful, godly women and being able to disciple other women. Her assertion is that everyone and anyone can disciple someone because everyone is at least one step ahead of someone on the path to Truth. Had it not been for the women who stepped out in faith to help her on her journey, she knows she would not have come as far as she has. She equips women to do this by leading and facilitating Bible studies that help them to grow in the knowledge of God so they may bear fruit for His Kingdom. (Colossians 1:9-11 [show] [9]And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, [10]so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. [11]May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, (ESV)

Cynthia has four grown children, two of whom are married, and three beautiful grandchildren: two grandsons and one granddaughter. She has been active in women’s ministry, music/drama and, most recently, missions work. Her greatest passion is working with women from all walks of life and in every stage of life. In Zambia, she had both the privilege and the pleasure of teaching a group of about 25-30 women on a Sunday morning about the joy that is ours in Jesus Christ, who has already accomplished the work by His death on the cross and resurrection. She just returned from a mission trip to Nicaragua and will be going on a Holy Land Tour (where she will be the student!) in April of 2010 led by Dr. John Barnett. She says she is “checking out her future digs” and picking her spot to worship the King in Zion!
She has lived in Michigan since 1982, but will be moving to Oregon in May of 2010 where her sister and brother-in-law and their grown children have been living for over 35 years. She’s an “ocean” person and can’t wait to be near enough to drive to one in an hour! She attends New Life Community Church and hopes to find as wonderful a group of friends at a church in Oregon as she has there.
