Seeing Sin As God Sees Sin

Seeing Sin As God Sees SinIn the years that have followed my born again experience, my sin life revealed itself in ways I never saw at the first start of my faith walk in Christ Jesus. In fact, one thing I had become quite good at was seeing others sins and making a judgment call on them. God wanted me not to judge others but to first look into my own life, see sin as God sees sin, confess my sins, and make the necessary changes to become more like Him. He had a job for me to do, to love people where they were, and most importantly see them as God sees them.

Do you have people in your life pointing out your sin over and over? Are you tried of hearing what they have to say about you and all the things you do wrong? Do you feel life is unfair, especially when God asks you to change but those around get to keep doing what they’re doing? We ask ourselves, “What’s wrong with this picture? Does God see some sins and not look at others?”

Self examination is painful and seeing sin as God sees sin is for our good. Getting others to do right and making our lives turn out the way we think they should be, is God’s job as well. Ask God if any of what others say is true. If it is then confess it to God and turn from it and begin doing what God is calling you to do. God is mindful of those around you and your circumstances but His desire is to start with you.

God says in Isaiah 51:8-9,” ‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways’,”declares the Lord. As the heaven are higher than the earth so are my ways higher than your way and my thoughts than your thoughts.” God also says in I John 1:9, “If we confess our sins he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

I don’t know about you but that is the kind of loving God I need in my life. He sees me as I am. He is willing to work with me until He completes His good work in me. And God is then able and willing to use my thinking, words and actions to glorify Him. Seeing sin as God sees sin can lead to great benefits if we are willing to yield all that we have and are to the Great I AM!
